Andrea is a historic landscape designer and environmental planner who believes in the power of design to simultaneously address modern human needs and ecological environmental challenges. She specializes in crafting high-quality, approachable landscape narratives that engage people to build consensus around highest quality design solutions. Her design focus is the preservation and revitalization of historical landscapes through narrative building. She believes that quality, ecological design and historical restoration create places where people want to be – places where history is preserved and communicated in ways that inspire value of the landscape and attachment to place. Her passion is that history, economics, and ecology can partner together, and her goal is to convince others that they should.

Andrea is a creative storyteller who specializes in getting to know people personally and understanding their goals and vision. Her passion is to help you communicate your vision through effective, personalized design and narrative. An enthusiastic motivator, she loves collaborative work combining multiple perspectives to achieve strong solutions. Her thorough research and analysis skills allow her to identify comprehensive, relevant connections between a message and its audience. She sees the potential of every project and is able to envision innovative solutions and make them successful realities. 

 
 

Andrea was born and raised in North Carolina. The state is her passion, her home, a great love of her life, and her very favorite subject of research and writing. Because of her love of land and its history, she pursued a masters degree in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at North Carolina State University College of Design. She graduated in spring 2022 with her MLA and a certificate in Disaster Resilient Policy, Engineering, and Design. She received her bachelor’s degree in Art and Design from the College of Design with a minor in English focusing on creative nonfiction and fiction writing.

Andrea joined the AECOM Cultural Resources Management team as a Historical Landscape Architectural Designer in the Environmental Business Line in spring 2022. She first began working with AECOM in the Park Planning and Design Studio in Raleigh, NC as a Landscape Designer+Planning Intern from August 2018 and spring 2022.

She worked as an editorial intern at Our State Magazineduring the summer of 2014 where she edited, proofed, fact-checked and wrote stories. She also interned at Wildlife in North Carolina magazine during the summer of 2013 doing editing and writing. She assisted the design team and worked with the lead photographer, Melissa McGaw, in the field. She interned as a Design Assistant at Walter Magazine during the spring of 2014 doing publication layouts and photo editing.
